Casual Producers, Morning Report
Te Tūranga –The opportunity
RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content.
An opportunity to work on a casual basis with New Zealand’s award-winning public media broadcaster and its flagship news programme, Morning Report. RNZ is looking for casual producers to pick up occasional shifts helping to make our programmes sing.
Te Mahi – About the job
You'll contribute to the production of Morning Report by identifying stories, arranging talent, writing background notes and introductions and identifying angles that are informative and relevant. The role involves audio editing, and studio and digital production as required.
This role requires shift work, and we are looking for journalists who are able and willing to work early morning, afternoon/evening and/or overnight.
Casual producers don’t have guaranteed shifts and the work is irregular.
These roles are office-based and often in a studio environment.
Ōu Pūkenga - About You
- A tertiary qualification in Journalism or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- Good knowledge of regional, national, and international current affairs
- Proven ability to produce “live” programmes of a consistently high quality.
- Live radio production skills
- Digital recording and editing skills
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

This is a casual position, based in Wellington or Auckland. Shifts will be infrequent and not guaranteed.
