As a Communications Coordinator at RNZ you will be passionate about the role public media play in informing, entertaining and challenging New Zealanders.

We are looking for someone at the start of their communications journey, with an interest in internal communications. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop and grow their communication skills and gain exposure to the media industry 

Te Mahi – About the job

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

  • Communicate our ‘people’ strategy to our kaimahi and build effective internal stakeholder and communications strategies.
  • Project manage communications projects that arise under the supervision of the Principal Communications Adviser.
  • Compile and help write regular updates for kaimahi and maintain RNZ’s intranet
  • Help to assemble and develop corporate publications which are high-quality and tell our story.
  • Work collaboratively with our publicity and marketing and people teams to ensure messaging is aligned and opportunities to proactively tell RNZ’s story are taken.
  • Provide pragmatic communication advice to all our kaimahi and ensure effective delivery of business objectives. 

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience or exposure to communication and/or engagement roles.
  • Media or Journalism experience beneficial but not essential.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Ability to work in situations where there are a multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, working full-time role based in Wellington but we are open to flexibility.
