In this role, you will:

  • Lead induction, training, and capability development across News and Audio teams, ensuring consistent proficiency in editorial systems and technologies.
  • Deliver specialist field and emergency preparedness training, strengthening resilience, business continuity, and RNZ’s lifeline utility responsibilities.
  • Bridge the gap between editorial, operational, and technology teams to drive practical system adoption and effective workflows.
  • Design and deliver organisation-wide learning programmes, resources, coaching, and SME-led initiatives that build technical capability and improve content quality, across key sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance systems, support emerging technologies, and provide training across all RNZ locations.

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • Qualification or equivalent experience in training, coaching, or learning and development, ideally within a media or content production environment.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate technical training programmes that build systems capability and support technology adoption.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and modern learning approaches, including online and blended learning.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence presenting to senior leaders and diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive capability uplift, translate technical concepts into practical learning, identify improvement opportunities, and perform effectively under pressure.
